I love chocolate and I love chocolate cake. Especially recipes for classic chocolate cakes are my absolute favorites. So I’m even more excited to share this vegan chocolate cake recipe. A vegan chocolate cake that is super quick to prepare and a classic on the coffee table.

This homemade vegan chocolate cake is made from purely plant-based ingredients. The recipe comes with few ingredients and is quick and easy to prepare. This vegan cake is super moist and chocolaty and tastes just everyone! The classic chocolate cake can not keep up. Because this vegan recipe is in addition without milk, without eggs, without butter and Co! Therefore: Purely vegetable and super delicious!

Easy and quick: Vegan chocolate cake

The vegan chocolate cake recipe is super easy. You don’t need a big kitchen and hardly any equipment. Because all the ingredients are mixed together directly in a bowl.

With a little cream and powdered sugar, the chocolate cake becomes a real eye-catcher. However, the sponge cake is a real treat even without decoration. The cake is so delicious – no one will notice that the cake recipe is vegan.

Vegan chocolate cake basic recipe: Simply delicious!

The recipe for this chocolate cake is super simple. While the oven is preheating, mix all the ingredients in a bowl with a hand mixer. Add the vegetable milk little by little until you get a homogeneous dough. If you like, you can also add vegan chocolate sprinkles to the batter for the ultimate chocolate treat.

The dough is then poured into a greased baking dish and smoothed out. Then put the chocolate cake in the oven for about half an hour. It’s best to test it with a chopstick.

If you can’t wait for the chocolate cake to cool, you can also serve it warm straight from the pan in small portions. This is then the ultimate vegan chocolate treat. The sponge cake can also be prepared as a sheet cake. In this case, the baking time is significantly reduced.

Incredibly delicious, moist and fluffy vegan chocolate cake!


  • 200 g flour

  • 45 g baking cocoa

  • 150 g sugar

  • 8 g baking powder (approx. 1/2 packet)

  • 4 g baking soda

  • 1/2 sachet vanilla sugar

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • 120 g margarine

  • 130 g vegetable milk (e.g. soy or oat milk)


  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees top and bottom heat
  • Grease the baking pan
  • First, mix the flour, baking cocoa, baking powder and baking soda in a bowl.
  • Then simply add all the other ingredients and half of the vegetable milk to the flour-cocoa mixture
  • With a hand mixer, add the rest of the vegetable milk and mix until a homogeneous dough is formed.
  • Put it in the oven for 30-35min
  • Let the cake cool in the pan and then turn it out onto a cooling rack.
  • Before serving, you can sprinkle the cake with powdered sugar
